    Black painted buckle...why?

In this grouping I bought the other day, there was a black painted Army buckle. I searched the forum and found a couple of discussion on this so I guess that I just wanted to add mine into the mix.

Typical Army buckle, made of steel. Eagles head facing to the right as looking at the buckle. Manufactured by JFS. Painted black.

Love to hear all the opinions wether it's a KM of something a Panzer guy did on his own. At any rate, the son told me as I was checking this and the other items was that this is the way his father brought the buckle home.

Not sure about the buckle but that is a nice group you have there. Like the armbands and is that a Red Cross armband?
