    Know this guy on Estand?

I don't want to disparage anyone so I am asking the membership? Anyone know this guy from Poland? I am hesitant about sending money to Poland and to a guy with 22 posts. That's a lot of $$ and buckles he's trying to move..

22 posts is indeed a hard call..if it were money order or western union..I d consider passing..if its paypal remember you re on the clock for claim file by about 30 days from purchase..Billbert

Poland to US used to be fast shipping..

Not sure if it helps either..nope it doesn't. There are several buckles I would deffinately buy but I just don't want to waste what collecting money I have on a complete unknown. I have been burned twice before and it is a lasting memory. One I am not anxious to repeat. Not saying the guys not legit but I don't know him or have any way to verify what's what. Thought someone might have heard or knew him.

Sorry it didn't help. Hopefully he joins this discussion and answers all the blank spaces....

Kyles..Thanks for the thought! I appreciate it. I am naturally suspicious of large collections displayed then an attempt to sell. With a few photo's a seller could rake in an amazing amount of money before the jig is up.
I sincerely hope this Polish seller is legit. If he is..I guess I will miss out on a couple of buckles I have been looking for!
            Thanks again.

I am a bit suspicious too because it is his entire collection and seems like a common excuse...

                Hello there,

Lots of buckles going fast. If I were you I would ask for a photo of the buckle(s) you're interested in on a recent and dated newspaper. Ask him what town he is from in Poland (and hopefully the newspaper will correspond, ensuring he actually has possession of the buckles and not stealing images from Internet)

may or may not help but just an idea.

Jee, I was away from the forum over 1 year and it seems some old issues just became worse. I am with you with the newbie guy thing. IMO this could be easily fixed by requiring a certain amount of threads started/posts in the forums before selling in the E-stand. However the fact he's from Poland or eastern europe in general is not relevant. I have been ripped off by guys from US and UK as well. I took a look at the sale thread and I am bit confused with the pricing logic but besides that...he states he can take more pics and accept Paypal. If he has something you're after you should go for it. Or if you can wait, see how his first sales go and if someone who just bought from him add a comment here. WAF as I remembered was based also on trust . Otherwise everything good is lost.

William, Zeller..Yes..good ideas and true enough. I have a very good friend from Poland and he is full of horror stories about the lengths friends and people he knows will go to trying to make a buck off the internet from militaria collectors. Well..nothing I can't live without for now anyway.
And you are correct..my worst rip off was from a guy in Michigan on a dagger deal.

While Eastern Europe does appear to have some rip offs, I have sellers try to rip me off twice now from Arizona. ..A very far-away and dangerous place from California LOL
So it is a problem everywhere.

With this particular seller, though...you don't know if you will find out if those first sales of buckles don't go well.
It is not as if everyone is nice on WAF if you do complain about a seller. I know from experience that many jump on a band wagon of attack of anyone who speaks up (although that has started to subside).
Couple that with one's personal embarrassment at being ripped off(and not wanting to relive it again and again for WAF members wanting every bit of information) and so not everyone on WAF will tell the rest of WAF.
