    Waffen-SS Buckle / Opinions please

    Gentlemen-

I am interested to buy this buckle, but am neither sure about it's originality, nor about it's type or historical backgroup (timeperiod of issuance, etc.)

I'd very much appreciate a few words on this piece.

Thank you very much and regards,

    Markus

    Hello,

IMO it is a ground dug in good condition .

    Made in 1940 from Overhoff&Cie Lüdenscheid .

Yes it is a probably a ground dug buckle, but heavily buffed on obverse. I assume the plain area was treated with sand paper, as it does not match to the pitted rest of the buckle.

        Best,
        Guido

          Hello,

I'm the actual owner, so, I won't speak about originality, leaving the judgment to our buckle forum members.

I can just say that, IMHO, that's not a ground dug piece.
I know ground dug stuff and sure you don't make it new with sand paper.
          At least not alluminnium stuff.
My opinion is that suffered bad storage and humidity.

          Bests
