Agreed, although these are not my are really within the scope of my buckle collecting. Assmann identifed for me by way of the catch, ears and curved prongs.

Just for comparison and curisoty sake, atatched is a very odd HJ which I hold in my collection. As you can see, the aforementioned features are a pretty good match with those on your LW and also on an Assmann SS buckle. As of yet, this HJ remains enigmatic as it is painted steel and not RZM-marked as should be the case given the production time period. It also has a very lightly stuck roundel which might hold the key to IDing it. Unknown maker and perhaps some kind of prototype but hard to deny the very similar features with your Assmann Luftwaffe.
