    Czech Kuratorium Belt Buckle

    Hello,

A few weeks ago forum member Bubble from the Czech Republic posted a thread on the Czechoslovak Kuratorium: http://184.172.36.50/forums/showthread.php?t=653322

He was wondering if anyone has a Kuratorium Buckle in their collection. A friend of mine, Kim Alstott, has one he acquired while living in the Czech Republic for 18-years.

He knows of one other example in a collection, besides his example. The Kuratorium was the Czechoslovak version of the Hitler Youth. There were 12-daggers given out to leaders of the Kuratorium, and probably at least 12-buckles were made to go with the daggers.

Looking forward to your thoughts and comments.

    Best Regards,

    Alan

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for your post, information and image...you are a great resource for everything Czech-related.

It is a very interesting and obviously extremely rare buckle type, not even appearing in books. For this reason and it's being Czech & youth-related, I think makes it somewhat peripheral. Unfortunately, not of interest to the masses as seen in the lack of responses beyond Kirby's to Bubble's original and very interesting post. I think we see this in general with a lack of posts and responses to Czech-related or other buckles (particularly youth) from outside of the Reich proper. I suspect that were this something peripherally SS-related this dearth of interest would not be the case...as is the case with anything SS really. Just my opinion based on the behavioral trends within this forum and the general TR collecting community.

Again, very interesting but unfortunately underappreciated history and relics thereof in my view. I for one (along with Bubble & Kirby I suspect) would be interested in seeing images of the reverse of this buckle as well as any of the non-leader box buckles worn by the youth.

    Best,
    Adam

        Czech Kuratorium Belt Buckle

        Hi Alan

It is a super rare buckle but it's from an organization that most of the collecting world have zero knowledge of. This would be a hard item to put a value on.

Oh .. Really sensational and very rare buckle! I see it really for the first time in my (long :-) life! Thank you very much for showing!

PS: I was the last three weeks abroad and came back home yesterday.
          I will write more tomorrow!

          Regards bubble
