KM marked buckle and Belt..Pics... Need Info please...

Here's a nice Navy buckle and belt that I plan to sell and need estimate on value. The Aluminim buckle is anodized and has a 1937 dated tab with very LARGE E/M. Tab is clearly marker marked but not quite sure the Name of maker?

The belt has D&C clasp, E/m in leather, 1938 dated and again marker marked. Belt is 36" long and the leather belt piece? that attaches to the belt has started to pull away (stitching is worn).

Again, a value est would be great to hear...Bob

KM enlisted and the "anodised" aluminium types are quite hard to find in good condition. The reverse of the buckle would have originally displayed a raised R. S. & S. logo. In addition, the leather tongue would have been stamped to read, Richard Sieper & Sohne - Ludenscheid.

    Regards,

    David

      Hello Bob,

A typical example of a nicely worn KM buckle. This aluminium golden buckles where only made by RS&S (Joseph Sieper und Sohne Ludenscheid). The RS&S logo is just barely visible at the backside. A estimate on value? A 350 to 400 US dollar I think.

      Greetings,

      Frans

Without wishing to appear overly pedantic, surely Richard rather than Joseph?

Wehrmacht related buckles are not my area of collecting, however I wonder if you could supply some additional information towards this KM enlisted buckle. Is the over size eagle on the leather tongue usual? This is a style of eagle stamp that I am not familiar with and it almost looks "political", notwithstanding the way that the eagles head is facing. I would normally expect to see the stylised eagle and Fraktur M, as shown on the strap. Just wondered, as it was the only aspect of this set that I did not like.

            Regards,

            David

              Hello David,

I have several Kriegsmarine enlisted men buckles in my collection. One golden aluminium KM buckle has on the leather tab a oversized eagle with M. Almost the same as the one shown here. And the one in my collection is an original! So, I am not afraid of this one too. I will put some pictures of it on the forum towmorrow. I want to thake the pictures in daylight and not with a flash. The pictures are clearer then.

              Greetings,

              Frans

                Guys,

Totally original buckle with the Kriegsmarine acceptance stamp (Abnahmestempel) on the tab. These go for insane prices when in really good condition tending towards mint (in the sense that coin collectors use the term, not the inflationary use by some sellers). But this one... I myself would never want it on account of its condition, but I'm sure someone will pay for it for his collection.

                Karl
