Thats an very rare beltbuckle is called freiwillige kroaten in der Wehrmacht, it would find in the near of slovenia in an forrest.very good condition for an archaeological find

Great condition for a ground dug buckle. It is super rare. I will have to search but I seem to remember a photo on the war relics forum showing the buckle being worn.

Looks like other examples I've seen of this rare buckle, certianly looks "good to me" and "textbook" for this style IMO....notice the feldgrun paint traces, too....
I'd certianly give it "display space" in my collection until proved otherwise!

You should "document" and photograph such "ground recoveries" whenever possible....being able to follow a ground recovery from down under to it's final "display" condition would be especially critical on rare items like this!

Just my humble opinion....still learning after 50+ years!

I like it too. Definately period made. Aluminium has a better chance of surviving in the ground than steel. Congratulations on such great find.

Thanks for reply! I showed this picture befor 2 years to somebody, and than it was in some forums(militariafundforum and,and) also i send some pictures to collectors. everybody told me thats an original.yes the condition is very good for an ground fund.ca.15cm under!
