    Price Check

Hi their, i was woundering if you could help me out, i was looking in a shop window at Scarborough England and i came across 2 belt and buckles. I have a Hj Buckle, but i wanted to know if i am getting a good buy or deal.

1st was a late 1940 heer (army) maked, 100% ORIGINAL and mint, very good con. + belt Price at £80

2nd was a Luftwaffe, i cant say what year, maked, 100% ORIGINAL and mint, very good con + belt. Price at £90

Are these good buys? Just want to know what i am really paying dued to £10 diffrents in price on each belt and buckle

    Best Regards

    Hi,

Both prices seem a little on the high side. For the army one (steel I take it) it may be justified, if it has the leather tab and really is in mint condition (i.e. no paint chips etc.). I find that the presence of a belt does not really affect price greatly, unless the belt has interesting and preferrably matched markings.

With the LW, it's harder to say, depends on the type (alu or steel), construction (1 piece stamped, applied roundel, "notched bar" hook catch), tab there and marked (only maker or also unit/LBA) . Alu LW buckles usually show a lot of wear to the eagle's body. If this is an alu one in really untouched condition, and has the tab, and it's marked, I think the price could be justified. Same for a steel one in same condition.

I any of those buckles is just in above-average condition, I'd say way too much.

But in the end, it comes down to what you want to pay. The price is "right" if you, having seen the buckles, think that's what they're worth and are happy with.

    Cheers,

    Karl

I agree with Karl. A high price on both buckles. In USS $$ the Army would be $144.00 and the Luft. $162.00 A very hefty price for both buckles even if both were mint with tabs.
