Tropical belt - LW Officer ?

    Hello gents,
here is a nice webbing tropical belt + buckle I never handled before. The only one I have seen sofar is in the Kurtz book German Paratroops.
Both, webbing and construction look correct and period to me.....so what with this one??? Can we call it LW tropical officers belt??Some say they never exist..
    Thanks for your opinions.
    Gustav

looks like a genuine AK officer belt, not necessary LW.

              Dear Gustav
original and text book construction for this belt and buckle
and I agree, not necessarily LW

Beautiful original belt - I agree with both previous comments.
Love the condition - highly desirable
                Regards,

                  .......never say never.....

Is this a EM belt converted to officer's, or just factory issued such way ?

This is a first for me. Construction looks fine and it is definately one I would not mind having in the collection. Great belt

Just playing devil's advocate as I don't know a thing about these.

Would the thread in the red areas be the same? The thread near the buckle seems cleaner as well as a larger thickness, as compared to the thread which secured the reinforcement tape.

How would the eyelets have been made? And the slot for the buckle?

                            Good points Willi,
The pin slots were worked into the weave of the main belt the same way they were with the EM's on the early (1940) webbed tongue's - a small slot which didn't pull or tear over time and use.
The thread itself used for the re-enforced end and the folded section may well have been done in two parts of the factory, so depending on what was in the bobbin at the time...
                            Regards,
                            Mark
