SS belt and buckle, opinions please.

Here is my SS belt and buckle. I would like to have some opinions on it because of the tab. Some have told me the tab is period but I want to make sure. You can see on the belt how long the buckle has been there. I had got it from a family of a WWII veteran that brought it back.

But the tab has not the right place here on this buckle .

No tabs on SS buckles !
