This was obviously coiled up for a very long time, it has a tendency to roll back up when attemptimg to lay it flat (at least toward the end lengths). A view of the backing material section behind/under the leather tongue shows how apparent it is that it has rested there quite a long time.

There is nothing about this that gives me reason to doubt it, but I always enjoy knowing the viewpoint of fellow collectors. Hopefully these additional photos will be helpful in details.

In trying to research these belts it appears to be the same construction and attributes as the few I saw that are impressed 'JFR' within a circle toward the end of the leather tongue.

Any additional observations would be appreciated.

I do not see anything alarming

The leather tongue is textbook and correct in every way. Patina, stitching, wear, color, markings..It has it all have no doubt about it. A gorgeous belt.

Does the marking on the leather tongue look like this?

This is from the firm J.F. Rieleder GmbH. Are you sure the backing is black and not dark blue? This is the marking on my SS/Water Police Feldbinde.

Thank you gentlemen for all the comments. I had the opportunity this weekend to show it in person to several collectors having first hand experience with these belts and it received raving positive reviews. So I am indeed happy that it's a winner!
