Gentlemen,
Apologies if my questions seem very basic, but I've been looking for an army officer's double-claw belt online, and I was wondering if there are any ways to distinguish between a WW2 belt and one made in the immediate post-war years. This is based on the number of such belts I've seen that have little or no markings (obviously, a belt with a maker mark and a date would make it a lot easier!)
This belt is a prime example. To me, it looks 'good', the zinc buckle has the remnants of army paint, and the construction seems entirely right for the WW2 period. The markings aren't very enlightening though. What do you think? Any info or comments will be gratefully received.
