Lucky day of May :) scarce SS die cast buckle by Sieper

    Hi ,

just wanted to share with you some pics from latest digging trip in Pomerania where 15 div SS fought. Friend of mine was very lucky and found unmarked SS buckle die cast by Sieper ( according to search of JP ) . I was not so lucky as my friend because I found only SS skull Latvian type however every found ss skull makes me very happy...

This buckle is one of two known types made of alloy die cast . This one is a scarce unmarked one , the other type is made of zinc alloy with markings RZM 822/42 SS . According to my own research I believe that both types are made of diffrent alloy .

    Hope you will enjoy this

Not to sound too morbid but wouldn't a buckle be attached to a belt which would be attached to a body?

....a lot of equipment was left by escpaing soldiers and it's very hard to find buckles with belts . Letaher was very usefull after war many people collected leather parts to use in their farms .

Can we see it after you've washed the surface dirt off?
