    NSFK Officer's Buckle

These are always tough as they are not seen too often... My concerns are the riveting colour and the if the fake catch and prongs are indicative of the entire buckle. It seems like a better constructed one if it is in fact a fake...

I'm going to go ahead and put this into the fake column of my research.

This is a buckle the fakers have messed up big time. Buckle1 posted this one http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...highlight=nsfk and i think it has a chance but not enough to buy it.

I've seen these in a few books (Evans, Angolia) but don't know if those are legit either. Has anyone ever seen an unquestionably real one? Are there any shots of these in wear?

I would agree, it looks similar to the one posted by buckle1, but his seems to have more of a chance than this one... any ideas on why the rivets would be a different colour? Is that a clue we can start using - would all agree the parts accompanying this buckle are reproduction?

Picked this one up around 20 years ago as part of a mixed lot of badges and buckles. When I got it the Icarus symbol was barely hanging on by one of the rwo hollow rivets. I fixed that. The buckle is made of stamped nickel silver. There is no maker mark at all. Maybe someday I'll find a loose LW brocade belt to attach it to.

The rivets are the same color as the NSFK symbol they come from. The domed portion you see on the rear is from the posts formed into the symbol and used to attach it to the buckle.
