    A German navy buckle question!!!

    Hello!

    I am going to make a Kriegsmarine enlisted man display and he will represent one from Norway. My questions are, did the navy guy’s in Norway use steel buckles or did the only have aluminum buckles that time (1940) If the did not, do you know when the navy starting to use the dark blue steel buckle??

    Cheers<O

    Hello Roger, all,

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    The KM in Norway used the gold aluminium buckles with leather tab made by RS&S.

    The gold steel buckles where introduced on a later date. The “ Bleu” navy buckles are an urban legend. They are not at all “navy” buckles but late war productions ( late 1944 /45)used by all formations of the Heer including but not limited to the KM.
    (There exist a few late war bleu “rodo” SS buckles, they are definitely not KM )
    Hope this helps.
