Hi,
I've been searching for some time on the Forum but haven't had much luck (maybe I'm a bad searcher!). My question is whether there are any clear dates/ years (1943, 1944, late 1944 etc?) for the introduction of the late-war blue-grey 'einheits-farbe' (universal colour) ?
I'd also be interested to know if this subject is covered in any reference books (or online sources) e.g Nash's book.
I'm also curious about grey or black buckles etc and whether members think that some Heer buckles were still being painted field-grey up until the very end presumably if they still had the paint stocks available? (I have an unmarked field-grey Overhoff and would be curious to know if it can be dated in any way from it's colour)?
If this is a subject with many unknowns and variables that is still being researched then please feel free to tell me and put me out of my misery!
Best regards, Paul
