    Unusual RAD

    Hello all,

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    I post these pictures for Michael; Michael told me that this buckle was found on the site of a PW camp. I have not seen this construction before and have not seen any fakes like this eider.

      Is there a chance that this buckle is actually a "standard" aluminium RAD, however an otherwise badly corroded reverse, having been heavily treated with acid ?

      Regards,

      David

        Hello,
        I do believe that buckle is cast aluminium/zinc(?). If real, it must be late war. The only comparable buckle as regards crap quality is the cast zinc police buckle. German buckles were almost always of better quality. How does the size of the buckle compare to regular aluminium buckles?
        Regards,
        Kevin
