    Thanks

The standard design RAD, being introduced in 1936 and which is well documented within the publications by Angolia and Nash.

The one that you show is the light construction and private purchase RAD (no leather tongue) and apparently, worn with the dress or walking out uniform.

        David,
Thanks for your response. I was trying to find out the correct time period, meaning closer to 1936 or 1940. My guess it was closer to 1938-40 since it didn't have any markings? Just a hunch.
        Thanks

Although I am not absolutely sure, I think that there was a very slight modification to this design in the late 1930's and at the same time, the light construction and private purchase buckle was authorized for wear.

I think your guess is right - 1938/1940.

Interesting however that the standard and heavier duty RAD is almost always found with a makers mark and date, although I have never seen a dated private purchase RAD buckle.

Hopefully, someone is going to post an image!

          Regards,

          David

Another private purchase RAD, with different reverse detail.

            Regards,

                RAD buckle

This is a RAD buckle I picked up for $75 USD, how does it look and was it worth it? It is marked with a G and a B in the lower left.

I think that $75 is about the going rate for such a buckle.

A sound, albeit a little tired RAD by Gustav Brehmer.

The RAD still thank goodness being a reasonably easy buckle to find and with the inclusion of the leather tongue.

Interesting though that the inner surface of the RAD buckle is seen both as plain and pebbled.

                    Regards,

                    David

                      RAD Belt & Buckle set

I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of my buckles.

First up my RAD set. I don't think I have posted it here before, my apologies if this is not the case.

                      Cheers
                      Don

Markings on catch. Can't really make them out looks like a tree with some letters either side.
