My first belt and buckle
I was given this, along with other items , in the summer of 1972, by my father's uncle. He was a medic, in the 101st and 17th Abn. The belt is the one with the open frame clip and the buckle is the Police type. The belt is cut down, which I never figured out, being a novice 12 year old collector, until I got a complete belt later! I believe my uncle cut it, for he was a skinny little French Canadian New Englander, and he told me he used to wear it around alot. He also gave me a Fallschrimjaeger helmet, which he had {CRINGE} painted black, and marked in orange letters, his New Hampshire State Guard number. He used a Fallschrimjaeger helmet in a local militia unit...!! Cool. He was a card...
OK, the buckle tab is marked 1942, Ludenscheid, and has a one broken pin, and he had punched some holes in the belt for him to wear. The other belts are notable in their differences. Two belts have the standard fittings, though one is from 1943, Kiattau, Kattau or Klattau ...nictto veratta..., there is a scratch on what may be an "L"), and the other has an RB number. The RB number also has a series of punched holes in the belt proper, instead of a separate tab for buckle attachment. The belt given to me has nice tooling along the edges, but no end, ergo no belt attachment tab, and no maker marks. The really salty belt....is it WWII? It is narrower by 2mm, and has the type of belt hook that I see on East German belts. Simple, with rivet pins. I had a real cheesy belt in 1979, but sold it, and later found that it was cheesy because it was presstof. I did not know what presstof was until years later and now have to just shrug it off.....ouch.
So, any opinions on the belts? Was the obviating of the belt tab, and punching holes right in the belt a late war change? I kinda think so. And the salty belt?Attached Files

Hi the Police buckle is a scarce flat back type made by Richard Sieper
"pity about the broken prong"
Salty belt is a Political type used by the Hitler youth, SA ect
The RBN numbered belt with the holes punched through the belt is a late war type
Thanks For showing us your belts & scarce flat back Police buckle.
Regards Mac 66.
