    HJ Assman opinions please

This is my first HJ buckle, I'm more into Reichsparteitag and HJ enamel, so I hope I didn't make a mistake. was hoping you guys with more knowledge could help. I picked it up today at a gun show for what I thought was a reasonable price, so your input would be appreciated. Thanks Tim

a little more info for the buckle, this buckle dates to 1934 +1 as it has both the first series RZM mark (RZM 17 for F W Assmann & Sohn) and the A A & S markings.. after 34 the RZM banned companies from having their company name and logo on the buckles..
this particular marking is one of the most common and most widely produced of the HJ nickle buckles.. somewhere around 40-50 % of the nickel buckles I see are this variety
Assmann was an extremely prolific maker of youth buckles, and of buckles in general... you could have a very nice collection of just Assmann marked buckles! I believe between my HJ and DJ, I have about 40+ different Assmann buckles
                  hope this extra info helps
                  thanks for sharing

                    Common Assman

Chad, Thanks for all the great info. I guess my concern and reason I wanted opinions was due to the catch. I did a pretty extensive search on the net. and as you said there where a ton of HJ buckles with the same markings, but not a lot with this style catch. I would say out of the 12-15 buckles I found only one had this same style catch........... thus making me a little curious. The gentleman I purchased it from also had know idea and when I questioned the catch I think it made him a little nervous. I negotiated it down to $60. Which after doing my search seems to be a descent price. Again, all of you, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to school me. Happy treasure hunting!!!! Tim
