I've had this aluminium SS buckle 822/38 a number of years. Could I have members opinions please, as to whether its good or bad and if possible a reason. Thanks You.

You can see it to the left on the wreath as well. No sign inside though. Is the Z in RZM normally like that on this sort of buckle (not questioning it, just a newbee general question)Comment

Thanks for the posts, going through the points you make, dealing with Patrick's and Helmut's first, to me it looks like someone started to file away the swastika and the small pits are marks from the file teeth, to the left of the swastika you can see they have slightly taken away some of the wreath with the naked eye you can hardly see the pits, the picture resolute must be about ten times actual size. For Tony I've a new MM picture.

Here it seems as if a portion of the "RZM" mark and the "8" flattened.

You maybe right, looking at the 8 & RZM marks at some time the buckle could have been held in a vice, but not by me.
