    Tropical belt & buckle

    Hello

    - First, what’s your onion on this buckle & belt ?

    - Then overall, into what extend we can find tropical webgear among heer troops in 1943-1944-1945 ?
I guess for Italian front it was a common thing.
But does the shortages allows such belts to be seen in Southern Russian Front, Southern France or maybe Normandy ?

    Thanks

    Hello Nicolas,
Your webbed belt is an early pattern, manufactured in 1940 (or possibly very early 1941). This type saw service in North Africa and is the colour/pattern mostly found in New Zealand as veteran souvenirs from that as well as the Italian campaign.
These indeed also saw service in all other areas where summer weight uniforms were worn.
    Regards,
    Mark
