SS Officer's Belt

Hello fellow belt and buckle collectors...

May I solicit your thoughts or opinion on this SS Officer's Belt?

My question or concern being the belt having a keeper seemingly permanently sewn on both ends. In my opinion, one end should have the tab with holes to slide the buckle on and accommodate the officer's buckle's prongs and the other end as this piece being the keeper where the buckle tab attaches.

This belt curiously has a keeper on both ends.

Any thoughts-opinions?

I think the markings are recently applied.

Hi John,

SS 27/yy RZM is (so far) known only on fake leather belts. Fake SS officer leather belts to be more precise. In majority it is SS 27/39 RZM.

Any idea why the belt has a buckle keeper on both ends?

Looking at the photos one keeper shows some wear. Wear in the inside part of it (towards the tunic). So, most likely IMHO, a buckle was attached to it. A non-SS buckle (railway, DRK, else....) which was removed before applying the SS marking.
Opinion could of course differs.

Just to confirm ... this belt has fake markings? Please confirm that this isn't just a guess (JP, I really respect your knowledge, and assume you're right on target).
