    Do You Have To Match Every Buckle With a Belt?

    Just curious on that. I don't have a whole lot of buckles, and some came with the original belt. Those that don't, I try to find a correct one to match it. Early buckle goes with good wear goes with an early belt with good wear etc. etc..

    Toughest one: A combat police belt to go with a Police EM buckle. They look about the same as the other combat belts with friction tab and aluminum hook, but thinner leather so they can pass through the hinge and that extra thick buckle leather tab.

    Hello Jeff,

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    Finding a belt for each buckle is a nice project when you have only a few buckles… Trying to do this when you own a few thousand buckles is completely impossible!! I have given up long time ago… EM buckles do not need a belt to be complete, they are complete on there own, not as officer buckles who need the brocade to be complete. This is why I collect only EM’s…

    Of course having one belt corresponding to each type of buckle is nice as well as keeping original sets together. Keep in mind that original SS belts are more expensive than the actual buckle!!!

      Thanks Marc - For a few thousand, yes that would be tough. Lotsa leather.

      Concerning SS belts, weren't most of them the same as Wehrmacht belts (RBN, maker mark etc) ?
