    Opinions on Assmann SS 155/40

    Hello,

I have already found a lot of interesting material on this forum, also answers to my questions regarding whether my belt and buckles are original or not.

What I don't know is what to do with them

The first buckle is original, RZM 155/40 Assmann SS with minor surface rust.

More images can be seen HERE There are also images of the belt, witch is an original, K38 (1938), 90cm long with aluminium hook (hook seems to have been originally painted green).

Nothing has been done to clean the rust or the leather of belt - so both are not tampered with.

I'm leaning more and more towards the idea of selling them, as I'm not a collector and I do have another one that I'm keeping. A local dealer has offered 450EUR for the buckle alone. What do you think? Could I do better? Is there perhaps someone here, interested in them?

The one I'm keeping is a 155/43 that beloned originally to my uncle. Not in such good shape as the first one, but still quite ok - and - with my last name inside!

What would be the best way to prevent further rust? Or should I just leave it as it is?

    Thank you in advance!

Whether they are original or not, has never been the question - what I don't know, is what to do with them

        1) what would be the value of the first buckle and belt? And is there someone here interested in them? They are both in Estonia, Europe - shipping worldwide is not a problem. (I have many friends in various places of USA, also Finland, Italy etc - I can ship to them to make the deal localy and they can wire me the money).

        2) how to keep the second buckle / prevent it from rusting?

        Thanks again!

          1. To sell an item on this forum, you should first become an "association member", then place a thread on the e-stand section.

          2. Spray some WD40 on it, leave it a few hours. Then dry it with a piece of cloth.
