    another buckle!!?

Yes, I'm attracting them like flies!
for someone who's not strickly a 'buckle-man' I'm doing well lately!
this one is not a direct vet purchase, and I wonder to it's authenticity. You lot know alot more than me, is it good?
    regards
    jon

A sound Army buckle and probably dating from the mid 1930's.

Note that the eagles head is facing to the viewers left !

Would not expect this buckle to be makers marked.

          Regards,

          David

Yes, the actual leather belt is rather worn, the buckle itself seems in pretty good shape, and I hadn't noticed the eagle's head facing the other way!
in fact , this is in very good condition, considering what it went through, and I don't just mean WW2...
...I got this from an old school friend of mine, (who got it from his uncle) He wore it every day from when he was about 13, to about 20years old! And yes, we weren't exactly model students , so I'm surprised it re-surfaced at all!
Any ideas on value? (for this, and the SS one on the other thread...?)
              best regards

Jon...that price seems a little high ,maybe due to its condition, but even then a little high , I usually see these going anywhere between 200- 300 range...chad

Nice buckle with original belt. Value: under 300$, 250$ would be fair. 340$ is ridiculous for such buckle, they are private purchase. The Nickel version or one-piece version would go for that but NOT the above pictured one.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
