I'll start off by saying that I'm totally ignorant on this subject. A friend showed me a buckle and said he didn't know anything about it and wondered if I could help. Judging by pictures I've seen online, it could possibly be a DAF (Deutsche Arbeit Front). It has the swastika inside a wheel. I don't see any RZM number on the back side, just some kind of manufacturers logo that I can't quite make out. Looks like a J and possibly a C in a circle. The only thing that throws me for a loop is the few pics of the DAF buckles I've seen online, the background of the buckle is smooth. The one my friend has has a pebbled finish. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thats exactly what it appears he has. What is the deal with the variant DAF? Are they more uncommon than the standard version with smooth background? Were they only made/issued for a limited time period or only to people of certain rank? Thanks for the quick response!Comment
