    Luftwaffe Officers Buckle (re-hash)

Hello folks.. I have a quick question for you and I believe this might start some debate.. I am not on here to make enemies as I am honestly 50/50 on this buckle. I read another thread on this blog from a year ago that stated this was a well known reproduction. In fact it shown in the "pinned" thread of known fakes in this forum.

I thought this was real, then I was sure it was a repro and now I am 50/50.... A friend showed me the following book that says this is real. However, I do not believe everything I read!!!! I have this buckle so emotionally I believe it is real but my logic says it is a repro..

Various websites state this is real, various state it is fake.. so I am unsure what to believe... hence why I submit the following to the experts!!!

Just found something new... found a website where the guy wants $465 for this buckel.. it has a single hole etc...

This think is that he said it has original cellophane from LDO... isn't OLC and LDO two different companies?? Can anyone date the date of manufacture by plastic pics? I tend to doubt the Germans used clear plastic (which would use petroleum) during wartime 40's?????

As a general rule here we HATE to see the wings outside the center or hitting the oak leaves.

      Try this thread:
      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ft+officer+olc

The OLC makers mark found at the bottom of the buckle is also something that makes one raise and eye brow...

      I'd stay away IMO

Hello Evans book has a lot of bad buckles. For $465 you can find a nice original buckle and a brocade belt.

Also, The buckle you show in post #1 is night and day different then the buckle you show in post #2 selling on that website for $465.

But I would agree you can get a legitimate pre-45 LW Officers buckle for much less then $465.

Just for example: Drop Tail LW Officers Buckle @ $295.00
