        Hello Pete,

I cannot speak to the original-looking belt strap (star rivets?) but the buckle is a very fine original and one that in my opinion is not commonly encountered.

I would simply call this an SA buckle with the qualification of being nickel plated over brass. It is my understanding and opinion that nickel and nickel plated SA buckles were not the prerogative of the NSKK. Although the NSKK did use these buckles, they were made to correspond with silver uniform buttons. Alternatively, brass buckles would have most likely been paired with a brass buttoned uniform. I suppose "two-tone" SA buckles with a silver wash or nickel silver roundel could have gone either way. No hard and fast rules, I believe and the aesthetic taste of the individual purchaser was definitely a factor. Attached are images of the example I hold.

        Best,
        Adam
