LW Tropical Buckle, Unknown Maker

Can you help me identify the maker of my tropical Luftwaffe buckle? It appears to say N & H 1942. What did these initials stand for?

N&H stands for Noelle & Hueck. The Co. was in Ludenscheid.

It once had a leather tab. N&H appears to be one of the main makers of tropical buckles and the 42 dated ones had leather tabs.

I agree John,

All of my tan olive Luft tropical buckles (with or without leather tabs) were made by N&H. That goes for all the ones I have seen too. This particular buckle is also made as a reproduction, but they don't mark them....yet. The paint job should not fool any experienced buckle collector. Have never seen a trop buckle with a web tab made by N&H.

I purchased an N&H hallmarked buckle a few weeks back dated 1940 with its leather tab. It strangely came with a tropical belt and had remnants of the blue paint on it rather than the yellow. Also, any guess as to why it and the belt would both have its leather tabs also stamped "GZ"? Thanks.
