              Hello All,

              I merged the last post on the (fake) and silver N.S.B.O buckles together with two older posts. This will give a wider search field for future references. I don’t have a nickel N.S.B.O buckle in my collection so I cannot compare. I do believe and agree with previous answers that the first buckle pictured above (input #25 and #26) is a fake; I don’t like the prongs. As for the other one, the quality is indeed very nice, and the prongs are of a type seen on other period buckles. I would not reject it without having it in my hands. “Normally” they should not exist in silver but on the other hand, why not? Many other buckles should not exist in silver eider…

              <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

              To comment another buckle pictured above, the one with the cap insignia attached; lots of these buckles are indeed post war assembled but they also exist in pré war period assembly!!

              Marc
