    S S Overhoff style fakes

I saw today at an English arms fair, a batch of Overhoff style SS fake buckles, towards which I have never seen before.

Aged nickle silver with the belt claw bar in the correct position, although with a black solder or braze.

No markings and of note, rusted roller bar and claws.

Poor obverse detail and especially to the pebbling behind the motto.

    Regards,

    David

No to both of your questions.

Are you familiar with this fake from my description?

My biggest concern was the correct positioning of the belt hook catch, albeit with a black/grey braze.

      Regards,

      David

Are these the ones that are oversized for a nickel piece but the right size for a steel piece...if so they have been around since they started faking these with some effort?

Many thanks for the gentle reminder to all, that fake nickle silver SS belt buckles have been in circulation for some while.

The aim of the post was only to casually mention that there was the possibility towards a new type or more probably, a reworked type within the English market.

Collectors be aware - as simple as that.

          Regards,

          David
