My response is a little late but I had to find the buckle in question. I also have in my collection a HJ buckle with the DANZIG stamp. The pictures Dave send of his buckle is not very clear but could it by that the prong bar and prongs are replaced??
There is no reason the buckle I have would be a reproduction.

Bonjour, Marc. In looking at the prong unit, i can't say definitively whether it is a replacement or not. I imagine it could be possible that one firm might use more than one style of unit, on account of dies wearing out, etc. If more of these turn up, we can make some additional comparisons. I got both buckles very reasonably, with two also-dug KVMs from Danzig.

I will look around to see if I see more of those Danzig buckles but I had never seen anodher one until you posted yours.
