german youth or catholic buckle ?

    Hello,

I would like to share with you a picture of this mint pre war (?) buckle.
The mounting is the same as the WWI buckles.

What you think guys ? I haven't seen any references or era pictures. It's very strange. Any lead ?

    Thank you,
    Loïc

I have the exact same buckle in my collection and it is also pictured in Angolia's 2nd edition under the unknown chapter. An interesting buckle which I have discussed with a few other collectors. The Sig rune which is attached to the right off the cross would indicate a possible connection to the HJ. Possibly a church group with in the HJ. Maybe some of the other Weimar period collectors have some ideas on this. I am 99% sure that this buckle and mine are Weimar period buckles-not Post War.
    Hope this helps,

    Bill

      Thank you for your message.
I think there is no doubt that these buckles are from the pre-war period indeed.
I have also discussed it with friends and we all think these were probably not even been distributed. The buckle I found was completely new in paper !
About the Sig rune, even if we can link it with the rune used by HJ or DJ, with the cross it shows a "B" which works for "Bund" (Federation) then I thought of a "Katholische Bund".
