Luftwaffe Belt/Buckle

Hi Guys,
In 1981 I purchased a complete belt and buckle assembly. The buckle is a pressed steel version with most of the blue paint finish remaining. The buckle is not maker marked, but the brown tab is marked as Assman & Sohne, with the date 1942. The clip on the end of the belt is pressed aluminium and differs from the ones I've seen on this site, most look to be a bent over steel clip type, mine is a rectangular tag and completely flat.
The belt has obviously been used to hold badges, etc (probably by the guy who bought this back to NZ) as it has quite a few piercings along its length.
They have left an inmpression on the leather and none look to be Luftwaffe or Third Reich type badges.
What I would like to know is how much something like this is worth (I paid $35 NZ dollars then, about $17 US dollars)? Also, can anyone show me a picture of a similar buckle/clip photo, I can't post one myself.
Last but not least, who used this blue steel buckle as compared to the shiney aluminium ones?

Hi Tony:

Everything sounds right based on what you say. Aluminum is associated with earlier buckles and hooks is all. Steel is later in the war as aluminum became in short supply. You still find aluminum hooks on late war RBN marked belts though. Holes in a belt hurt value, still you are looking at $70-75 total.
