    Fake Luft buckle ??

    Hello,
One of my Luft buckles caused me some doubt, although I think it's a nice one.
I don't like the way the catch is welded on.
    Any thoughts ??

    Jos.

      Hello Jos,

Your buckle is probably an Assmann from the 1941/42 periods, Assmann made various models of catches at that time. I can’t see if the prongs are bended like they should be on the Assmann buckles but I am almost sure this is the maker. What colour is the buckle? I can’t make it out from the picture?

        Hello Marc,
I've tried to scan a view of the prongs and they are bended.
The colour is blue/green other than the blue/black buckles.
I'll wait for your final verdict !

        Jos.

          LW buckle

          Jos,

I have a blue/gray LW buckle like yours and it still has the leather tab that has Assmann's oval stamp and a 1941 date. I'll scan and send photos to you so you can compare. My last attempt to post a photo here ended up so large it was unmanageable so I'll just send the photos to you privately.

Incidentally, the catch is attached in the same manner and I have no doubt about the authenticity of my buckle as you'll see in the photos.

          Mit freundlichen Grussen,
          Ralph
