    NSDAP Jugend

    Hi all
Received this today, had a bit of a laugh to myself when I opened it out of its packaging,it is so small,I don't know why I was expecting something bigger.
The oval face plate looks the same as a couple of buckles in the books I have, but can not find an exact looking buckle, can anyone confirm for me that it is an original piece,I presume there are a number of variations that have not yet been documented.
Thanks all for your comments, have a good one

    Hi Spike,

I don't collect these or know all that much about them. That being said, I think that rather than "NSDAP Jugend" (which I do collect) these are more accurately described as "NSDAP Sympathizer" buckles. There is a similar construction buckle with red celluloid that are believed to be early HJ/Jugend trouser buckles.

Attached here are images of a couple of my 35 mm NSDAP Jugend buckles. They are essentially small SA buckles since in the early days the NSDAP youth movement was under charge of the SA.

Perhaps others will be of a different opinion on your buckle but this is my understanding. Hope that helps

    Best,
    Adam

        Hi Adam
Yes I think you are right in saying that it is a NSDAP sympathisers buckle,in the references I was looking at,some call it sympathisers and some call it youth.
Here's a photo out of Angolias book showing the very similar buckle to mine.
Thanks Adam it's always a pleasure
        Regards

Thought I'd add this photo of mine to this thread if that is ok. Interesting is that if it is a Sympathizers buckle why is the boy wearing a HJ armband also?

Interesting topic. Initially I would have agreed to sympathizer buckle until "Black Watch" has posted his photo. Well, the boy is not only wearing an odd buckle but also wears a non-regulation scarf-knot. The Lederhose can be tolerated as semi-official, at least in Obergebiet Südost. Also he wears shoulder straps, which look like the standard brown with coloured piping.
What is further of interest is
            a) no triangle, which helps us dating the photo to 33 or 34 and
            b) not a single Tinnie or shooting badge or ANY other insignia or badge.

Is there any writing or photo studio stamp or a name or date on the reverse side of the photo?

            Rgds

            Daniel
