    Silver political leaders buckle

    HEY GUYS

I know this is one that is not seen to often, but does anyone know why there is a silver political leaders buckle. I picked one up recently, and just curious why they are silver. ENjoy the pics.

        Spencer,

There are no reasons to date that have been uncovered or learned as to the "why" for the silver aluminum PL buckle. Let me know if you want to get rid of it.

Nice buckle you have there. I have one just like it in mint frosted silver condition. Yours is only the second one I have ever seen in 35 years of collecting. Does anyone have another one?

Silver color was proper for lower grade PLs with pre-1939 uniform/insignia, but a silver post 1939 buckle? What for? A non-PL use or sold without a proper finish?

Are there any worn ones on belts? I'll bet that these are aluminum or zinc that was yet to be anodized/washed gold and sat in the factory...
