LUFT and HEER Buckles for appraisal.

Yes, it is. Otherwise the 1936 leather tongue is incorrect on steel buckles.

I am a bit puzzled so is the buckle a fake because it as a leather tab attached to it or is the buckle itself a fake.

The LW buckle itself is a fake . The design of the eagle is typical. They come with different maker marks.

This one has been artificially aged and a good leather tab has been stichted to it.

No doubt about that, even if it is looking good.

I don't know anything about Heer buckles Gareth, sorry. I would take the tab off of the LW buckle and ask $25-$35 for it as someone could use it to restore an aluminum LW buckle.
