    N S K K

    Hello All,

I know it is a hard question, but possibly somebody can help me.
I’m interested in informations about the round SA and N.S.K.K. high leader buckles. Who has one of this rare buckles?
Books like Angolia’s show a few variants. Some with a maker but no RZM marking, normal?

What do you think, which variants are genuine, which questionable??

Of course we don’t need to talk about the one with screw attached eagle!

    Thanks in advance

    Christian

FANTASTIC!!! The same question as for the SA leaders, in which kind of construction are the two on the top?

      Thanks again for sharing!!

        Back.
The two top buckles are very scarce. The 3d one on the bottom is more common.
The bottom buckle is illustrated with the very scarce first type brocade. I have observed only one such brocade so far.

NSKK Officer's Buckle - Could It Be?

                Hi Everybody,

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this buckle. Could it be the real McCoy?

It seems to be of good quality construction, and has traces of gilding remaining in the recesses (esp. of the wreath and also in the hollow of the reverse). The catch and keeper also exhibit traces of the gilt finish, as well as patination consistent with wear. As for the nut to the reverse, this is hexagonal as opposed to round, but could the circular marks around the nut be indicative of socket tool marks. Perhaps the nut was replaced at some point.

Anyway, I'd be most grateful if you could give me your opinions on this one. It almost gave me a sleepless night last night wondering about it.

                All the best,
                Toby.

                            Marc,

I got it from a collector on the Isle Of Wight, who began collecting Third Reich items in the mid 70's and stopped collecting towards the end of the 90's. How long he's had it or where he got it from I can't say but I'll ask him next time I see him. Why do you think it looks familiar?

In the meantime what do you think of it? Genuine?

                            Cheers,
                            Toby.

                              Toby,

I am sorry to tell you that the buckle is bad. There are a number of variations on this same type some w/the RZM mark and some w/ SS runes in a diamond. All these marks are spurious. That aside remember one thing, ANY officers buckle w/the front piece attached by a nut of any type is bad.

                              Bill
