I haven't seen many of these - are they desirable to die koppelschlossler?

This appears to be a standard 1st pattern, Weimar-period DRK (Duetsches Rotes Kreuz) buckle, produced pre-1938 and when the Nazi pattern DRK buckle was introduced. I have examples in both solid nickel and nickel over brass. I believe the one shown is probably solid nickel. One of my examples is marked O&C Ges. Gesch. for Overhoff & Cie but most others I have seen are unmarked. Very nice buckles in my eyes, although the standard variety are fairly common. Hope that helps.
Best,
Adam

Hi, Thomas,
That's a really good point and I vaguely remember hearing the same concern/issue voiced before (I think on the other forum) but cannot remember by whom. You? Guido maybe? I wonder who can say for certain or what features there might be that can help to determine pre-1945 provenance.
Best,
Adam

Hi,
I thought that the postwar German red cross buckles were aluminum pebbled...
I could be wrong ofcourse so don't shoot me
There's a picture of a possible post war West German DRK buckle in Angolia's book "In the service of the Reich" (page 306)
I have the same pattern buckle in my collection.....
Maybe some other thoughts about this buckle ???Last edited by DRK; 02-14-2011, 01:24 PM.
