Help on a brass TR buckle

A shop owner who picks up items from time to time called me today on a grouping. This guy is real high on items and doesn't have any idea of whats what but he gets in a lot of stuff from families unloading militaria.

Anyway along with some US medals etc. and what looked like a grouping ( he said it came together) there was a well used HJ buckle as well as a weird brass buckle. It was something like the brass of an imperial buckle but the roundel had Gott Mitt Uns and an eagle. I thought the eagle was crude and the swastika also looked kind of crude. The back of the buckle had lots of crud and looked good. It is probably fake but is there any brass bukle with an alternate eagle (with the wings in a downward position like Heer) that anyone knows about? This is not coastal artillery or navy but a seperate buckle -- any weird volunteer buckles fit that description?

And no he won't let me take pictures -- never does -- I have to wing it on stuff.

Thanks -- I did a search but forgot to look at the pinned section -- you are correct -- that ugly bird was a match for the "chicken / bat" fake. Reminds me not to get too confident in a group but evaluate each piece on its own merits. I told the guy it was likely a fake when I first saw it and he said he felt "very confident" in the buckle and put $400 on it.
