    ANOTHER DAK Belt and Buckle!

    This one just arrived, and I'm pretty sure this one is a no-kidding DAK belt and buckle set. The web on the buckle is sewn with the same thread as the belt ends - I'm pretty sure they belong together.

    I would appreciate any reviews of this set, and thanks in advance.

          Hi Robert,
          Another one looker!
          I think you have a 1941 dated set. The tan webbed tongue with sewn eyelets was first introduced in 1941 (from what I've seen) and the weave of the belt itself is classic early type in olive, so a use of old stock in conjunction with the later tongue.
          Look under the tongue of the buckle on the steel's inner face - I think you will find this makers stamp and date there.

              The buckle seems that is a H. Aurich, the makers stamp should be located on both sides at the bottom of the svastika, but I do not manage to see them in the pic.

                Ivan, I don't see any makers marks at all on the buckle. I appreciate you guys taking the time to look this over - the tan tongue seemed OK but it helps to have the pros render opinions!

                        I agree that this is a "H.Aurich" style of buckle and have had more than one like this, veteran brought back from Afrika by New Zealand soldiers.

                        To date I have never been able to find a makers mark or date on any of mine by this particular maker, they are completely unmarked like this very nice example,

                          Thanks Chris. It's interesting that the steel body of this buckle is a type associated with the DAK - you guys really have this stuff down.

                          It had a leather equipment loop on it that I've reattached.
