Real one of the above fake. No markings on the edge on this one but inside the swastika diamond.

I do like the crank HJ and a rare beast.

One query though is in relation to the interestingly positioned RZM M4.

Do I detect a "2" or "42" by the makers code, as I was fully expecting to see 39.

        Regards,

        David

          Hi David,

I know this kind of crank catch only from H.Aurich(M4/42). Assmann made also HJ buckles with crank catch, but the catch is flat.

            Hello all,
I have a steel buckle with this style catch but it is painted dark blue without any insignia or makers mark. I assumed it was a postwar buckle for some official use or other. Any ideas?

The maker is indeed M4/42 and the ones Assmann made are steel but with the classic crank catch.

Hi Chris, I have seen the buckle you are talking about on Ebay. I was supposed to win it but the seller has sent it to someone else while I paid for it. You???

I don’t know what it is. Maybe grounded? I would like some pictures if posible.

                Hi:

Here are some pictures of my HJ buckle marked RZM M4/42 in the swastika diamond but mine has an RZM tag stuck to the buckle.
Was this RZM tag factory installed?

                Regards
                Gary

Thankyou for the images, although am I right in thinking that the buckle has actually a nickle silver finish and that the golden copper effect is only digital photograph colour temperature related.

An eccentric buckle by the crank catch and positioning of the RZM mark, together with the makers code.

A clean and non marked inner leading edge of the buckle here and as such, an obvious place to very securely affix the RZM label, rather than loosely attaching to the claw bar.

                      Great buckle.

                      Regards,

                      David

                        Hi David:

Yes, the buckle is a nickle silver finish...I took the pictures at night and do not have the proper lighting to take good night pictures.
Thanks for your reply...I'm glad you like the buckle.

                        Regards

This is the buckle Kevin was talking about. Certainly not fake but unknown.

                            Any thoughts about this buckle?
