    Hitler Youth Buckle for appraisal

    Hello Gents
Is the reason I have never seen this buckle before because it is a reproduction or is it just a peculiar variant of a standard Hitler Youth buckle.
The makers marks are RZM M4/39

My apologies in advance these are the only pictures I have
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks
    Doug

        Hi Doug,

Good buckle with a less often seen catch. Here's one from my collection for comparison.

        Regards,
        Stu

Agree, crimp catch is not common. Both nice buckles even though the first is in worn conditions.

          Greetings

Here is my example to share of this interesting variant catch HJ. This catch variation is often inaccurately referred to as an "experimental" or "prototype" catch. This particular style of catch was approved by the RZM (hence the RZM mark) and therefore cannot be accurately labeled or described as experimental or a prototype, words which would refer to a "pre-approval" concept.

As Yellow12 has shown, this crimp catch (although not common) is not exclusive to the HJ buckle...also having been observed on DAF buckles.

                Best,
                Adam

Hello All, thank you for the great pictures and your comments.
This site is excellent for me as a novice.
I would never have considered a buckle with the crimped fastening to be genuine.
Just shows we are never too old to learn and always expect the unexpected
                      All the best
                      Kind regards
                      Doug
