    Berlin Police ?

    Hi all
Received this buckle the other day, bought it as a WW2 Berlin Police.
The crest is definitely for Berlin, but is it actually for the Police force,if anyone can confirm that for me that would be good.
    Thanks
    Spike

During WWII the Berlin Police would have worn the standard swastika police buckle. kirby

It was common to find those post-war Berlin police buckles in the 1980s at flea markets in Berlin. I bought a few back then because I liked the Berlin bear logo.

As mentioned above, certainly not the buckle worn by the German police in WWII as seen in the below linked thread. Nevertheless an appealing design and I also have one of these postwar examples! I also never noticed my example is also OLC marked until I seen yours!

Overhoff made many of these for the German police and fire-brigades with province and city coat-of-arms symbols after the war, even until the company got their bankruptcy years ago! Other versions are shown with leaflets with drawings and/or actual buckles.
