    Tropical LW Rig

A good friend turned this up a few months ago. I can't say for sure, but my opinion is that this rig served in Afrika because of the color. Who knows for sure. To me, there is no question this rig has been together forever.

    Hope you guys like it.

            Hello All,

            are you sure ?

The buckle was probably postvarnished !?

One more colour lies among the brown.

            With the best greetings

              Hi Raphael,

You do realize this buckle is Blue, has been painted tan, and the "brown" is rust? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your comment?

I'm curious why you think this buckle has been "post varnished".

              Thanks.

                Hi,
I see the blue colour too under the tropical paint. The question now is why?
                Best,
                Sascha

                  Hello,

LW buckles tan or green field painted do exist although very scarce.

The one posted needs an in hand inspection to definitively judge it IMO.

Looks to have a pinkish tan cammo over the original blue and also some rust visible.

Agree hands on is best, but from the pics provided it looks good, IMO.

There are some fake buckles that are painted with the exact same shade of tan colour.

That's why one can doubt about this paint job being period done.

But it looks good IMO and the provenance, if confirmed, guarantee the originality.

I'm not trying to convice anyone one way or the other, but thought these outdoor shots may represent this buckle as it should be.

This one is as original as they come. Out of the woodwork and I was fortunate enough to have handled it in person.
