    Very nice SS 155/43

Hi guys, not posted for a while so I thought I would share this interesting little number with you. Buckle belongs to a friend of mine whos Grandfather bought it back from Italy whilst he was serving there in the war. The buckle is a very nice SS 155/43 buckle in very good condition. The only thing with it is the paint, it is actually a grey colour, no colour underneath just this grey, do you think that this was a primer before being sprayed either silver or green? Maybe JP will have a theory? Enjoy

        Hello Ben,

Some of the 155/43 buckles have been issued in a light green colour.

It seems to be one of these in mint condition.

With a bit of oil on it, it would directly look more green I think.

Super nice buckle by the way.

        Cheers.

        Simon

I have one given to me by my uncle, who brought it back. IDENTICAL grey color. I notice buckles from this maker always have the 2 reverse attachment spots bleeding through on the front.

The flat gray 155/43 is a well known variant. I do not believe it is just primer since Assmann's gray primer was of darker gray shade.
                      Anyway, a well known variant.

                            nice one

it seems that we can find easily the light green variant than this grey one..

                            best
