this is a Hitler Jugend buckle, made by aluminium using injection molded process (usually this method was used for zinc buckles).
A good buckle in my opinion.

Hi Carl, I have the twin of your HJ buckle in both cast aluminum and cast zinc both M4/38, also a regular stamped aluminum by M4/38. The details of the eagle match mine, I like the eagle's face , has a knd of "roll eyes look". These go for anywhere from $65 to 95 USD depends on condition and markings.

Looks good to me but I'm no expert, just a pack rat...shiney things
