SS JFS , question..

hello

here are my 3 JFS SS buckles

On the wornest one, we can see a difference from the catch in comparison with the two others buckles: there is a strengthening near the foot of the catch (like on Overhoff's steel buckles).

Do you think it's a new catch for more solidity ? so a late JFS buckle ?

Or chance of supplying ?

Any idea could be a valid option since very few is known about JF & S as a belt buckle maker. There is also another factor to consider: some buckle makers did not make themselves buckle components like post, prongs, postsleeve and catches but instead were buying them in bulk to larger companies. So some questions will certainly never receive any final answer.
